Welcome to the Charlbury Art Society website

Charlbury Art Society welcomes anyone with an interest in Art, not just practising artists.

Objectives:

To encourage art appreciation and artistic pursuits and to provide members with opportunities to exhibit their work.

Meetings:

These are usually held on the second Wednesday of the month at 7.30pm, September to November and January to May inclusive. All meetings are currently held in the Friends' Meeting House, Market Street, Charlbury. Details of our monthly meetings can be found on the Events section of this site.

Membership:

Membership is by annual subscription, currently £10. The membership year runs from 1st September to 31st August. Production of the signed membership card entitles the holder to free entry to all the monthly evening meetings as well as discounts at a number of local businesses supplying artists materials and framing services.    For further details and an application form please email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Events:

One or more trips per year are arranged for groups of members to visit art galleries and major exhibitions. Painting days, such as Life and Portrait in untutored classes during the winter months, and local landscapes in the summer are also arranged. Occasionally tutored workshops may be available, eg. watercolour, landscapes, mixed media etc.

Exhibitions:

Exhibitions of members work, for display and sale, are held twice a year.
